-On June 29, 2007, Apple had released the iPhone. It had become one the biggest breakthroughs in the generation. It was created and directed by Steve Jobs, one of the co-founders of Apple. It had a touch screen, the first of its kind, and had applications. It also had instant messaging, where it showed you the conversation as you were having it which was a big part. It had all the basic features of future smartphones and tablets. (On the left is the newest IPhone model, the 5s.)

-On April 3rd 2010, Apple released the iPad, it was the newest phenomenon to the technology industry. It had almost all the qualities of an iPhone, except bigger.
-After the release of the iPad and iPhone, many other companies including started making other versions of smartphones and tablets. Like the Nexus 7, and the Motorola XOOM. Some smartphones include the Samsung Galaxy S4, which they started called Android phones, which was another mobile platform.
